An Amazing Circus of Phonograms – Act 2 places in the 2017 London Book Festival Awards

The London Book Festival considered books in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian in the competition.  The works could be published , self published or independent publisher in several categories.  Works published after January 1, 2014 were eligible.  There were a total of 15 categories.  They were judged by a panel of publishing experts using the following criteria:

1. General excellence and the author’s passion for telling a good story.

2. The potential of the work to gain a wider audience in the worldwide market.

Each category had a Winner, a Runner-up and several Honorable Mentions.

My book was in two categories – Children’s Books and Wild Card (anything goes)

An Amazing Circus of Phonograms – Act 2,  won honorable mention in these two categories.  My book was one of the ten Honorable Mention winners for Children’s  Books, one of five Honorable Mention winners for Wild Card.

There was one overall winner of the $1500 and trip to London.  The Author who won this was Julia Wilmot and title of her book was Where Is Emma Butler’s Life Plan?  I mention this because her book was a story reminiscent of Frank Capra’s classic, “It’s A Wonderful Life,” which happens to be one of my favorite movies which I watch every Christmas.  I’ll have to check out her book!!!
